The project

Symprove hired me to build an organic search-based content marketing strategy for their gut health supplement product in the UK. My health & wellness vertical content partner uses my research and works with our team of writers and scientists to build out the content. The goals of this stage of our campaign were to:

The strategy

My strategy starts with understanding the business needs and current space. That includes previous brand research and marketing strategy audits. It also includes in-house SME interviews. I review old presentations, interview stakeholders, hold group sessions, review Google Analytics and Search Console, perform UX click-throughs, and run SEMRush technical SEO audits. 
I start with competition uncovered through searches and SME interviews. I run sitemap audits and Screaming Frog audits; I look at traffic, Google Trends, agentic social listening and sentiment analysis, and keyword-developing resources. I review blogs, landing pages, content topics section pages, and more. In this case, I did a high-level review of 12 competitors, a moderate look at 5, and an in-depth look at 1. 
Finally I do a thorough review of keyword opportunities based on competitive analysis, domain authority, backlink potential, competitive density, and other factors such as previous first-page SERP performance and social media strategy.   

My role

As an organic search marketing and SEO consultant, I built a strategy for Symprove to improve their organic search presence, measure their improvements, and iterate upon their results. My plan includes on-page, off-page, and keyword recommendations. My keyword recommendations are the driving research behind Symprove’s content marketing strategy. 

The impact

TLearning from my first experience, I have been able to refine my SEO workflow, interview more SMEs, ingest more brand and marketing research, and audit the market in much less time. Where there may have been friction managing the time, culture, and financial differences, I have leveraged my experience to create working project management strategies across the ocean and time zones.
